Getting a quote

How long does it take to get quotes?
Most customers get their first quotes within 60 seconds of submitting the form. We don't wait for scaffolders to manually respond — our pricing engine generates quotes instantly from their stored pricing rules.
Why do you ask for photos of the job?
Photos take the guesswork out of pricing. The more you can show — the building, the elevations, access points, anything tricky — the more accurate and competitive your quotes will be. You can add up to 4 photos, and we'd always recommend adding as many as you can.
Is the quote binding?
The price you see is what each scaffolder will charge for the job as described. After you book, the scaffolder will confirm the spec — if the job is materially different (e.g. you said 1 elevation but actually it's 3), the price may be adjusted. We tell you upfront if that happens.
Why aren't there more quotes for my job?
Some specialist jobs (heritage work, complex commercial, very urgent emergency) have fewer scaffolders who handle them. We only show scaffolders who genuinely service your area and specialise in your job type.
Can I get a quote for somewhere outside Kent?
Not yet. We're Kent-focused for now and intentionally not spreading thin. Expansion to Sussex, Surrey and South London is on our roadmap.

Booking & payment

When does the scaffolder get my contact details?
Only after you choose them and book. Up until that point your phone number and email stay private — so you won't get a string of cold calls or anyone haggling over price down the phone. You compare quotes in your own time, pick the one you want, and only then do we connect you.
How does payment work — do I pay through ScaffoldQuotes?
No. ScaffoldQuotes doesn't take any payment or deposit. You agree the price and pay your chosen scaffolder directly, just as you would if you'd hired them yourself. We're how you find, compare and choose them — not a payment middleman.
What if I'm not happy with the work?
Get in touch and we'll help you raise it with the scaffolder. We also use this in our vetting — companies that don't maintain standards are suspended or removed.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. As there's no deposit taken through us, just let the scaffolder (and us) know as early as you can. Anything you've agreed directly with the scaffolder is between you and them.
Do I pay any commission or markup?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. Scaffolders pay a flat monthly subscription to be on the platform — we never take a commission from your job, and never charge the customer a penny.

Vetting & trust

How do you vet scaffolders?
We check public liability insurance (£5m+), employer's liability where applicable, CISRS card levels, Companies House status, and three recent customer references. NASC membership is a plus but not required.
Are reviews verified?
Yes. Every review on ScaffoldQuotes comes from a customer who actually booked through us. We don't accept off-platform reviews.
What if a scaffolder turns out to be unreliable?
We monitor cancellations, complaints, and review trends. Scaffolders who don't maintain standards are suspended or removed. Tell us if you have a bad experience — we take it seriously.
